A self-catering holiday near Calais

Untouched by tourism, it’s only recently gained a reputation as a cycling hotspot, which makes it especially interesting for older children who enjoy active holidays. To rest those tired legs, the spa town of Vichy is well-known for its thermal waters. Kids can bathe in the naturally-heated pools while parents indulge in one of the many relaxing treatments on offer.
Thrills and spills at Disneyland, Paris
It’s something that’s on a lot of people’s bucket list, a family visit to Disneyland. If you’re looking to save a bit of money, and avoid the queues, then it might be worth visiting outside of the summer months (weather permitting). It has all the thrills and spills of its Orlando counterpart, but is an easy few hours away. Take on its biggest rollercoasters, meet your favourite Disney characters and experience the Star Wars takeover of Hyperspace Mountain – all in the space of a day. Skiing in the French Alps
Dependent on the time of year, make sure you check before you go! During the early months of the year, January and February especially, prices can be a little steep. But in March, the prices go down a little. While the slopes may be a little slushy, it’s still a great feeling to go skiing with the sun shining overhead. Even if you don’t ski every day, there are plenty of events to keep the kids entertained in the beautiful winterscape. There are 13 ski resorts across Portes Du Soleil, so you have plenty to choose from whenever you choose to go.
Go all-inclusive at Opio en Provence
For a holiday where decisions don’t get harder than what time to have dinner, try an all-inclusive resort that expertly caters to kids. A tempting example is Club Med’s Opio en Provence, which benefits from being a stone’s throw from Nice on the Cote D’Azur glam coastline. But who would leave with food, drinks and entertainment taken care of inside its walls?
